"Irmler was founded by Johann Christian Gottlieb in Leipzig, Germany in 1818. Irmler pianos are very well made, as new innovations in modern piano making came along over time they were incorporated into their design. Irmler produced cross-strung upright pianos around 1915 with full cast-iron frames, and modern Berling upright mechanisms. Irmler production figures: 13,250 pianos - 1900, 23,000 - 1920 28,000 - 1940, 41,000 - 1953. Today their pianos are made in China and distributed as “Irmler Europe” by Bluthner at low prices.
