To restore a piano is to give a tired and worn instrument back its youthfulness, while preserving the richness of tone that has developed over time. Our philosophy at the Balleron workshop is to conserve this timbre, tracking down materials that match the period in which the piano was made in order to preserve this unparalleled charm. Our ever-present aim is to get as close as possible to the original tone. At Balleron we like to give each piano as long as it needs, so that it will last as long as it can...

Expert available
Expertise is an impartial aid to decision making, offering objective technical facts when an individual is considering issues outside of their own area of knowledge. Experts must be technicians with extensive knowledge of their craft, with excellent professional and legal understanding. An expert must appraise the technical condition, musical value and aesthetic properties of the instrument. They can certify as to the long term condition of the instrument and calculate the price of any work required. By engaging an expert when buying a used piano, you can rest easy in the knowledge that there will be no unpleasant surprises in terms of hidden faults or unplanned work required before the instrument can be used. It protects you from legal disputes and dishonest buyers. It establishes the market value, supported by a reasoned argument, when one individual is selling an instrument to another. Expertise provides evidence of the value of a piano for insurance providers.
Estimate
When a Balleron technician visits you, they will carefully and methodically examine the three main parts of the piano: the action-keyboard section, the harmonic structure and the cabinetry and marquetry. Following our assessment, we draw up a numbered estimate with details of these three areas which includes all the work required for repairing your piano. Balleron estimates always give exact details of the work required. You can be confident that our eagle-eyed technicians will establish the true condition of the instrument. Our prices are calculated based on the task before us and the requirements of each piano, not from a price list. Advantages: Receiving advice and a diagnostic assessment from a knowledgable technician. Knowing the real cost of the work and the detail of the work to be undertaken. Knowing that you are only paying for what needs to be done.
