Cabinetry

Revealing a piano’s original beauty

For our forebears, musicality and aesthetics went hand in hand. Balleron are dedicated to restoring the cabinetry of pianos to its former beauty, working on marquetry, detailed carpentry and varnishing. To this end, we use only period-appropriate techniques and materials, such as traditional French varnish, with plain or filled and waxed finishes, and animal or vegetable glues. We also replace all external cabinetry, such as veneers, marquetry, mouldings, sculpture, repair or replacement of feet, missing music desks and so on. By using historic techniques, we can ensure something very important: that our restorations are reversible.
