  • Double échappement du piano

    Double escapement

Repetition system which uses a spring and a moving lever which allows the key to be repeatedly pressed (when the action is well regulated). Used in all grand pianos since the beginning of the century. Impossible to use on the vertical actions of upright pianos. Invented by Sébastien Erard in 1821.
